Russian banks’ deposits with central bank fall to 3.176 tln rbl
MOSCOW, Aug 15 (PRIME) -- Russian banks’ deposits with the central bank decreased to 3.176 trillion rubles as of early Monday from 3.184 trillion rubles on August 12, the regulator said in a statement.
The central bank accepts deposits of commercial banks in order to regulate the banking system’s liquidity. The deposit rates can either be fixed or set during deposit auctions.
